Calling all photography enthusiasts, regardless of ability. I want to tell visual stories with you. My name is Kristy Wolfe and I am a storytelling photographer. I have been awarded a grant from the Town of Canmore to work with seniors in our community to create some type of photography project. I have some ideas, but this is a collaborative project, so think of me more as your personal photography mentor.
Throughout our sessions together, you can expect to learn how to build a visual storytelling plan that will help you focus in on your purpose and the details you want to document. Your story can be about anything that is important to you, perhaps a person, a pet, a place or an object. I can help you develop a plan to tell a story using your camera or a smartphone. Alternatively, we can use images you already have to create a story.
That was the call for participants that went out in the Canmore Senior’s Association’s weekly newsletter, Paper Trail back in September.

Over the course of six weeks the participants met with me and developed their own visual stories. Each artist created a final product of their own story ranging from posters to digital videos and were asked to choose one image to represent their project. Now we’re ready to showcase each of the amazing projects for our community.

From November 19th through the 29th a pop up gallery is open to the public during regular business hours at Stonewaters on Main Street in Canmore.
We would love for you to visit!
Please remember to bring a mask and follow physical distancing protocols.

We are so grateful to the Town of Canmore for building community through art.
